The Most Recognizable Abstract Art Paintings

Abstract art paintings can be found on the walls of the most prestige art museums in the world. Abstract art fascinates people because of its subjective interpretation and unique look. These pieces are notorious for their bold colors and collection of odd shapes that fit together to form a different perspective of a subject. Here are a few of the most famous abstract pieces created throughout history.

Wassily Kandinsky has the honor of holding the title of pioneer of abstract. One of his most recognizable masterpieces is called Square with Concentric Rings. The piece displays multiple circles within each other, similar to a bulls eye, that are then placed inside of squares. Kandinsky favors the use of bold colors in his paintings, including this one. He is also famous for many other types of art he created.

Pablo Picasso is a household name for many families, whether they are interested in art or not. His painting, Violin & Guitar, displays many of this Spanish artist's most famous techniques. It features multiple shades of blue and yellow hues that are layered to create depth and infinite layers. His style was known to change throughout the decades, making it easy for admirers to recognize what time period a painting comes from.

Joan Miro is another famous Spanish artist that is known for his abstracts. He has a unique series of three paintings considered the blue series that has received high praises by art fans. The second painting in this series, Blue II, is the most famous of the three pieces. This is a simple masterpieces that uses mainly color to display the beauty of open spaces and primary colors.

Robert Delaunay was a French artist born into an aristocrat family. One of his most recognizable pieces is called Rhytme Sans Fin. This painting features Delaunay's unique orphic cubism style that he developed in the early 1900's. He uses a multitude of calm colors and random shapes to create his masterpieces.

Jackson Pollock was a famous American artist that contributed to many genres of art. He began his career with focusing on the neo-impressionistic style, then later turning his focus to abstracts. One of his most famous masterpieces is called Convergence and was created using his favored drip and splash technique. This painting uses darker colors, such as blacks, tans, and grays, as well as primary colors to add depth to the pieces.

Willem De Kooning is best known for his painting called In The Sky. Kooning's rise to fame came after the world war two era, while he was studying art in New York. The style they developed, abstract expressionism, is seen in the painting In The Sky. This painting features mostly strokes of yellow, cream, and gray. This type of action painting can be seen by many other artists from this time period.

Abstract art paintings are such an unique form of artistic expression. They allow for expression to come out in multiple ways, once through the artist's creation and second through the fans interpretation. Although variations among styles have changed throughout history, the concept of versatile subjectivity remains the same.
