Jeremy and Kelly on Doomsday Preppers

By Terrance Franklin

Jeremy and Kelly are among the most intelligent partners on the Doomsday Preppers team precisely because they won't disclose their last name. Although it may be very obvious to people in the neighborhood, it will be tough to hide a military truck in the suburban areas. This is especially true when it's bigger than your home?

1. Hot Tub Water Supply

If you have been awaiting a reason to invest a few thousand dollars in a hot tub, you can now do it in the name of survival! 450 gallons of stored water is sufficient to provide moisture for the majority of the year. Before you gets too excited though, it isn't as simple as the show might have you think. If any one of you are running out to grab some hot chocolate mix in order to make some cocoa like Jeremy and Kelly, read this first.

The most dangerous aspects of drinking hot tub water are the potential bacterial and natural pollutants. Whilst hot tub water is usually safe from getting polluted through the high levels of chlorine and temperature, in a grid shutdown these may turn out to be compromised. If stockpiling for a long stretch of time, decontamination is essential. Any sort of filter that may be used for trekking might be used. Alternatively there is a method that is gaining traction in Africa named flocculation wherein allergens are bound collectively into large clumps and then strained out with normal cloth.

2. Go Into The Beast

In a ridiculous turn of fate Jeremy could buy a decommissioned 2 1/2 ton M35 cargo truck for the bargain basement amount of $3500 dollars. I think it is a point truly worth speaking about since it is something which comes up a lot. Frequently us preppers are proud of our frugality. However without the power to drop $3500 dollars in one sitting, Jeremy could have never obtained the vehicle that forms the cause of his bug out plan. Pursuing financial stability and saving is very important regarding being able to afford the organization we need.

3. Alternative fuel options

One of the most useful points about the beast is the reality that it can run on virtually any fuel supply. With Jeremy and Kelly?s focus on peak oil, alternate fuel sources are a key part of his tragedy circumstance. We have seen other preppers on the program devoted to alternative fuel options like biodiesel. The unfortunate thing about gasoline is that besides being very dependent on infrastructure to reach your pump, it is hard to stockpile due to it?s limited shelf-life.

Motor oil, when compared, lasts nearly a decade and with the filtration in place can filter out any deposit which could form from being in a single place for so very long. Given the current prices at the pump it?s as well beneficial to be stockpiling a fuel resource that could probably be had for cents on the dollar if not free.

A last strategic edge that the beast has is being able to push other cars from the road, or take a trip with no road. Using the predictions of blocked streets this is a critical resource to any road based bug out program
