Interesting And Special Science Fiction Comic Book Authors

By Gloria Mason

One very great science fiction comic book authors is a person who has spent most of his life acting. This is one man who first got into the entertainment business at a very early age and has delighted audiences for many years. His name is Billy Mumy and many of his fans know him quite well. He is one of the great pioneers of televisions in America.

Billy was born Charles William Mumy, Jr. On February 1, 1954 in California. He has spent his life as an actor, artist, musician and voice-over artist. He is well known as the character Will Robinson in the CBS 60's television series "Lost In Space." Billy has also done many guest spots on a variety of other shows during his lifetime.

He had an "Archie Andrews" look with his bright red hair and freckles. Many people within the acting industry knew that he would be a great sell for local advertisers who often sponsored television shows. Will Robinson was the baby of the "Lost In Space" family. Billy Mumy was the youngest of all the other cast members but he was still treated as an equal. June Lockhart, Guy Williams, Jonathan Harris, Mark Goddard, Angela Cartwright and Marta Kristen all loved him dearly.

The "Twilight Zone" producers featured him on their show some years earlier when he portrayed an evil young lad. The show was titled "It's A Good Life" and Billy was indeed a force to be reckoned with in this episode. He would punish any person who challenged him.

His parents were very much afraid of him and they did not do anything to make him angry. There was one brave man on this show who dared to stand up to the little devil and he was turned into a grotesque toy. People still remember this scene since it was a first on national television.

Angela Cartwright and Marta Kristen have always thought of Billy as their kid brother. The three of them still do things together and they would have it no other way. Years after the show had ended Billy started to draw a book that was quite similar to the original show. Everyone who was on the show plays a part within his stories.

There are plenty of new exciting adventures in his book and every story takes place in deep space. Billy wanted the original show to have a fourth season but the main producer of this series did not want this to happen. After three years on the air "Lost In Space" was canceled and the sets were taken apart. Mr. Mumy got his revenge on Irwin Allen by writing these new stories and making his television sisters the main focus of these books. Mr. Allen had always wrote many of the television stories around Jonathan Harris and this was quite unfair to the rest of the players.

Billy Mumy makes all science fiction comic book authors look very good to their fans. He takes the time to attend almost every convention and talk to people about his upcoming tales and outer space plot lines.
