Destinations to Visit for Seattle Arts

Visitors to Seattle can explore one of the many arts destinations in the city. There are a great many possibilities for visitors to find out about the uniqueness and elegance of the fine arts in Seattle during their stay. Plenty of the places feature stunning sculptures, paintings and tempting displays of performance art.

Seattle Art Museum

Art from locations including Africa, Europe and Asia are displayed throughout this Seattle arts complex. The museum also has many Native American artistic endeavors. Guests can use audio tours, wall texts and computer screens to further learn all about the art pieces in the museum. The museum offers free entry to all visitors each first Thursday of the month. This famous museum can be found near Seattle's beautiful waterfront.

Marion Oliver McCaw Hall

This performance locale serves as the home of the Seattle Opera and also showcases many different types of live art. Visitors can attend one of the shows in this hall to see a performance of stunning classical music or delightful ballet. Each December, with a bit of help from many top-class dancers, the hall puts on several performances of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. The location even hosts performances of a number of the top pop music acts. The hall is situated inside of the Seattle Center, which is also the location of the internationally renowned Space Needle.

Seattle Asian Art Museum

Visitors who wish to see some of the finest collectibles from The Far East can visit this Seattle arts center. Many ancient statues and artifacts can be discovered at the museum. There are also many exhibits offering a salute to the ancient faiths of East Asia. Like the Seattle Art Museum, visitors to this establishment can gain access for free each first Thursday of the month. The museum sits on top of historical Capitol Hill on the calm grounds of Volunteer Park.

Broadway Performance Hall

This smaller location seats just under 300 spectators, making allowance for a intimate experience with the performing arts. Visitors can come to this venue to see elaborate performances from flamenco acts, comedians and live melodramatic performers. The hall also includes art films and spoken word performances. The location is found along Broadway Avenue on Capitol Hill, a popular area for the more edgy crowd.

Photographic Center Northwest

This location of fine arts in Seattle showcases many pieces of contemporary and historical photograph works. Guests can see the exhibitions of state and world photographers. Visitors can even play a role in one of the classes or courses offered to find out more about the subtleties of creative photography. This museum is situated in Seattle's First Hill neighborhood.
