By Floyde Bateman

Those who possessed laptops at first gave the iPad a tepid reception, not recognizing the potentials of the brand-new gadget. But then, the actual function of the iPad started to become more obvious. iPads became more popular, gross sales and net profits soared upwards and suddenly all of the leading computer and mobile phone companies wanted to get in on the action. The iPad and other tablets became the latest must-have. Not surprisingly, Dell is attempting to obtain its piece of the pie. The Dell Streak 7 Wi-Fi Tablet is the outcome of that concern. In this article, we will take a closer look at this tablet and find out if it is well worth buying.

It's a good device for movies with a similar system to watch movies for ipad. Regrettably, the most obvious minus for this product is its maker: Dell. Dell isn't actually known for creating good and reliable products. Dell in addition has a shady track record of providing customer service. Based on customer feedback, it looks like the moment your warranty expires, you are going to incur a charge for contacting customer support. You'll see that maybe the price of this gadget is lower than most, you have got to factor in the long-term cost of the company you're dealing with.

Today, multitasking between different functions is much in demand, and the Android OS version used here, referred to as Froyo, should make it comparatively uncomplicated. It's not a necessity to keep certain programs "live" in order to get messages from the system's notification service, while at the same time listening to MP3s and keeping your GPS information updated. There are no worries about being unreachable with this tablet; communications via Gmail and other email setups are possible.

One of the best things about this Dell tablet that did not come with the original iPad design is video chat. Video chat feature is available in this Dell tablet through a front-facing panel cam and Qik software. The only catch is that the only people you can chat with are people who own a Dell Streak tablet or a compatible device. Thus, video chatting with others who are using other platforms is not guaranteed. Another perk is that the tablet features Blockbuster's On Demand service. We're not so sure that this is a terrific feature, after all, because of the difficulties Blockbuster has been having lately.

Thus yar, there aren't plenty of reviews about this particular product although a few people are questioning what the purpose of this product could actually be. The Dell Streak 7 tablet's pragmatic use is limited by its not being universal and its subsequent inability to communicate with incompatible devices. Notwithstanding, a strong desire for a tablet computer coupled with a small budget could make the Dell Streak 7 a perfect way to familiarize yourself with the technology. Keeping in mind the earlier caveats, do consider your purchase with care before committing any money.
