Creating The Best Costume Ever For Halloween

By Rand Fortescue

When Halloween comes around once per year people begin considering what different types of outfits they want to be dressed in for that year to generate a splash. The most popular ideas are, not surprisingly, the current aspects of popular culture. So movies, Television series, novels and also recent events will all inspire folks to dress up in a particular fashion. Think super hero films like Iron Man or how about a good looking vampire or werewolf from Twilight fame. Some people might dress like Tiger Woods with a golf club wrapped about his neck.

Halloween outfits offer a huge variety of possibilities to disguise an individual's true identity when attending events or going out to trick or treat if you happen to be a youngster. They are a chance to be a super hero for a night or be somebody you've always admired. Or maybe you just want to scare folks.

There's also options for dressing up at other times in the year, for instance costume parties which are based on different themes. Maybe they've got an historical theme like an Ancient Greece party or even a Film Noir theme. Irrespective of whether you are dressed as Zeus, King of the Gods or Humphrey Bogart from the Maltese Falcon, it can be great fun and a chance to let your hair down, so to speak.

Many of these costumes may be made at home and can be quite uncomplicated to make. A toga is not that tough to create for example. Dependant upon how realistic and elaborate you want the outfit to be, you might opt for a bought alternative. Obviously the bought selection will have more attention to detail and get a better reaction at a party but you'll find things that you may do with home made costumes to make them look terrific.

Make-up plays an appreciable part in a costume. You can get kits that provide the supplies and show you how to use the make up for, say a scar, burn or to appear to be a ghost. In addition there are kits that are available that focus on a particular style, like an Egyptian (Cleopatra) or a Geisha girl where the face makeup and look is very distinctive. Much of this can be completed at home and really makes you stand out from the group at a gathering.

There are more costumes that can easily be prepared at home like a clown costume, scarecrow or tourist. Hippy costumes or 80's costumes are also all the rage and straightforward to create at home, and also cowboys and Indians, gangsters and bank robbers. The imagination of the individual is the limit on generating entertaining costumes for any event.
