Some titles have set the bar with excellence while others passed as normal publications that will not see the next generation. It is the excellent class that tops the list of the best fantasy books of all time. Their plot, characters and scenes are unforgettable and captivating.

The leading title is A Game of Thrones that is penned by George Martin. It captures history in such a vivid and entertaining manner. The choice and description of characters is realistic and animated. You will not struggle identifying and loving the hero and loathing the villain from the onset.

Jordan Robert follows with his master piece series Eye of the World. The plot is enriched by well selected characters and is captivating from the onset. This is a pioneer writer who will be emulated in future by others within this genre. His craftsmanship ensures that every reader searches through all his releases.

Assassins Apprentice is written by Hobb Robin with an in-depth description of Fitz. The narration is in first person through the journey of life as Fitz tries to deal with daily challenges. First person narration is challenging but that does not dampen the spirit. It is brought to life through the interactions with other characters within the series. The plot is engaging, rich and realistic. It sets the pace for those who wish to be world class writers.

An unfamiliar name makes it to the list of the best fantasy books of all time. The title is Name of the Wind written by Patrick Ruthfoss. One begins reading it a second time immediately after the last paragraph. It has heightened suspense that is escalated by incredible secrets. One has every reason to wait for the next book by the same author.

The conversations in Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson are a crafty experiment with new ideas. This title stirred the genre upon release and has broken the monotony within this series. The author deliberately chooses unique characters to animate and oil the flow. Their roles are endearing and captivating.

Farland David gets the credit for refreshing fantasy literature in the book The Runelords. This takes the boredom and monotony from this genre by giving it a new twist. It is refreshing to turn every page and find something captivating and unique. It is the best gift to anyone who has exhausted his love for this genre.
