Differences Between Surface Pro and RT

The recent Microsoft Surface for Windows 8 Pro and Microsoft Surface for Windows 8 RT are a bit different; nevertheless their commonalities can easily generate confusion. Keep reading to compare the two and understand their dissimilarities.

At first both Microsoft tablets appear very similar. Digital Inking - One element many evaluators are pumped up about is the tablet's digital inking design. Microsoft gave its Surface for Windows 8 Pro edition the capability to write on the screen using a stylus. Its Gorilla Glass 2 is chemically bonded, which reportedly makes using the stylus on the device feel comparable to a pen on a pieces of paper.

Applications - Windows 8 Pro should run almost any software that ran on Windows 7. Windows 8 RT tablets will only run applications which are found on Microsoft's Windows Store. This is probably the most significant aspects which will determine which unit you require.

Alternatively buyers may go the path of the Android tablet. The price is often a bit less and there are numerous app markets where one can find Android tablet apps for the unit.
