An Overview On How To Make Paper Beads

By Matthew Bennett

Recycling is considered a great way of conserving the environment. Newspapers, magazines, and junk mails can be turned into very attractive creations. There is a great procedure of how to make paper beads out of recycled materials. This task is cheap and the products can be used in multiple projects. The items can be prepared from previously designed pieces or one can use their own designs using white paper using various steps.

First, measure the size of the piece you want to cut using a ruler while marking it with a pen. Cut along the lines you have marked using a pair of scissors. The width and outline of the cut strips will determine the end results. Use a template as a guide when cutting the strips. The utmost rims are important in designing because they are the ones which are noticeable.

Step two is to use a toothpick, dowel or bamboo skewer to roll the triangle round itself to make a cylinder, starting from the broad end. If you want a free-form design, you can let the triangle roll a little off-centered or if you want a proportioned spiral, let the triangle become centered. Hanging space should be avoided by rolling your beads firmly for long-lasting products. You can apply glue at intervals to ensure you paper does not roll out.

The third step is to stick the rolled piece to the tip of the triangle and ensure it stays tightly rolled. Before rolling the bead on your finger, make sure the end of the piece is stuck down, used light pressure to ensure that it is cylindrical and protected. If it does not stick tightly, apply another glue and hold the bead for a while to let the glue set.

The next step is to apply varnish to the bead on dry the glue. This makes it water resistant. It is prudent to swivel them around the cocktail stick so as to prevent them from sticking when completely dry. Ensure the glue dries completely and ensure it does not attach to something else. A toothpick stuck into a pincushion or some foam can also be used to shove the excess glue. A longer-lasting and glossier finish can be achieved by adding several coats.

You can then remove the beads after a few hours. This is when your varnish has positioned on your bead. It can also be done by sliding the items out of a bamboo skewer or dowel. It will hold only if it is glued and wrapped fine. If you experience unraveling of the bead, add more glue.

One can create some more beads using the steps above so as to complete the project. You can also create long strings and use them for decors or make several beads for jewelry. For decorating your beads, you might consider adding paint on the outside of the bead and put some glitter to make them more gleaming.

Going green by using old papers is both fun and a way of conserving the environment. It is an inexpensive project which many people enjoy doing and make good things out of it including gifts.
