What You May Not Know Regarding Jersey Shore

By Mario Dendy

Jersey Shore has been a really popular television show for lots of years, so if you don't understand much about it, continue reading to find out more

Basically, Jersey Shore was a reality tv series that was running for three years (from 2009 to 2012).

Shot in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, the series has to do with the lives of 8 young guys and girls, called guidos and guidettes, who roomed in the popular N.J. town and whom were followed continuously by cameras, shooting their every step. The series was complete with balancing jobs and night life - every bit of that loaded with hard-to-believe characters. It was truly these different characters and how they harmonized that made the program so enticing and talked about.

To be sincere, I offer my opinion that the tv show was rather enthralling to view. I typically chuckled hilariously at some of the antics of the guidos.

But, what is a guido anyway? Well, this term actually means "driver." It is an Italian-American word used to describe specific sorts of guys and gals with characteristics that can be explained as narcissistic. Guidos typically have muscular bodies and are young and tanned. Dare I say, the health club is a male guido's buddy. On the flip side, absolutely nothing is ever too revealing for the guidettes. Dressing suggestively seems to be a common style with guidettes. Plus, putting on jewelry is always a necessity for both men and gals

The shooting did not go well since the citizens of Seaside Heights really didn't wish to have their own neighborhood "polluted". Homeowners had already known the bad behavior of the participants would cast a bad spotlight on their quaint small town. I do not understand how this was solved, but the series began none-the-less.

The intriguing thing about Jersey Shore is the fact that the house where the guidos and guidettes took up residence was in fact loaded with cameras. The bathing room was the one and only location not filmed by 24 hour cameras. Some of the cast members later on stated that they would go for quite a lot of time under the shower simply to escape from all the cameras. It was likewise disclosed that much of the "bad behavior" was truly done to stage a performance for the cameras. Those cameras had such a huge impact on them.

Sadly for them, the tv critics were not nice to Jersey Shore. Plus, lots of Italian Americans were rather put-off as their perception of "Guido" is that of an ethnic insult.

As the reality show continued airing, the controversy was pervasive as well with objections and significant sponsors canceling agreements. It was these reactions that finally put an end to the show.

All-in-all, I would state that this program was not even supposed to be seen by adults. Questionable behaviors that could solely be comprehended by that age group were typically aired throughout "family viewing times" - when supposedly moms and dads and children are watching. In the end, it was merely a sub-par tv show that offered a lot of fun for horny teenagers.
