Creating Your Own Holiday Wreaths Like A Boss

By Priscilla Sims

It's that time of the year again! Christmas songs are starting to blast off on your favorite retail store, when colors green, red and white can be seen almost everywhere and Santa Claus mascots are continuing to thrill your young ones. Should you decide to start decorating your home, complete that look with good ole' symbolic holiday wreaths.

Celebrating Christmas is one of the most symbolic, not to mention the most relevant part of the year to some people. You may not be the most religious person, but celebrating it may not be a bad idea after all. One of the fun things to do during this season is putting up those decorations, there are countless of decorations that represents Christmas.

A Christmas wreath is one of the most popular decors during the season, not to mention the most symbolic as well. For example, its circular shape represents the undying love for human being, the evergreen represents life during the winter and candles symbolizes the great difference between darkness and light.

However, there's clearly no need for one to buy a wreath as making your own all by yourself is rather fun and creative as well. Sure that wreath displayed on their windows is a darling but making a personalized and customized wreath could be a real knockout. This will not only save you money but also the need for you to endure those long lines.

To start this simple project, secure a base first. Of course, it should be circular and strong enough to hold necessary stuffs to be pasted on it later on. Choose the material you would like to use for the wreath. One can cut out evergreens and start putting it on the base by using small wires or make it as simple as attaching news paper to it or wrapping it with a yarn.

Even newspapers are possible or gum drops, what is important is you make it with all sincerity while preserving its true meaning or what it symbolizes. This could also be a great bonding time with your kids and your husband too, or your friends. Just make sure though that you have the basic materials when making one.

To begin a good start, it is best to secure a reliable base before thinking as to what you really want your wreath to look like. Keep in mind, that a few more decorations have to be attached to your main material hence choosing a sloppy one may not be good enough to hold everything all at once, no matter how heavy it can get.

During Christmas, making your own holiday wreaths is not all about how good and beautiful it looks. Instead, the whole thing is about celebrating the real meaning of the season by putting up sympbolic ornaments. This could also be a great way to bond with you husband and kids.
