How To Differentiate Between An Amateur Vs. Professional In The Abstract Realism Artwork

By Diane Carter

Have you been painting for many decades down the line? Have you also shown your work at some local craft centers? You might as well have sold various paintings. If that is the case, then you must have started to show signs if wanting to get another title besides being an amateur. However, you might find challenges to determine whether you are a professional or still lying on the amateur side. Below are some factors to help you whether you are a professional or an Amateur in the Abstract Realism Artwork.

The medium that you use in your painting defines what you are. For instance, for the new starters, they find it easy to use watercolor during their art. That means that if you are an amateur, that should not the type of medium you need to be using. Instead, use more complexities to show that your creativity is beyond that one of amateurs.

Professionals use art to express their feelings and the impression they have of the world. Beginners and amateurs on the other hand paint about lifestyles and landscapes. As an amateur, you should try to use impressionism in your works so that you can move to the next level. Do these repeatedly using different emotions and you will finally get it.

Most professionals wait until their last presentations have completed. That is when they can distinguish whether their paintings were perfected. Before then, there is no actual judgment that can be done. Also, if you want to become a professional, stop using the normal papers sizes that are available at the craft stores. Start cutting your hardboards and new stretches of canvas. With that, you will increase your creativity.

The other thing is for you to know that you should not be using the usual style. The only amateur would use other created styles that they did not create. In that case, to increase chances of professionalism, start specializing in your styles. Get rid of those styles that you used from the time you were a beginner.

Your motivations is another factor that you should work on. Learn about ways to send messages to the world through your painting. Do not just do the painting just because, you felt to do it. Do it with some passion. Professionals are not just experts for fulfilling their satisfaction. In fact, everyone loves to do all that they can to ensure that they fulfill their emotions.

If you still are active in the art community, then that defines you as an expert. However, if all you do is paint and compete with others only during the competition sessions, you are still an amateur. Professionals find it overwhelming at interesting to socialize and interact with other painters. In the process, they can share different ideas.

Still, what you take painting for could define you. Professionals get that title since they take painting as a career. That is why you should not just take the activity during your free times. Spend most of your time doing what you love.
