How To Know If The Traveling Pastor Got An Attitude Problem

By Judy Sullivan

The individual should be aware that a traveling pastor is not an angel. Not everyone who works at the church is a good person. There are some who actually have severe attitude problems and they even hold a high position at the church. If the person wants to know whether the said professional has an attitude problem, here are the things to check up on.

The first thing to do is to know if the said priest is self-centered. There are lots of priests nowadays who are selfless but there are also those who only think about themselves. They do not care about other people's needs but they expect their needs to be attended to above anything else. It sometimes take precedence over that of the church's.

No one is perfect. People make mistakes and that is how they learn. If the priest cannot accept their own mistakes, then they surely need to go to counseling and get their attitude problem cured. They should learn how to accept their own mistakes or misdeeds and ask for forgiveness the right way.

Since they are unable to ask for forgiveness, all they can do is blame the mistakes on other people. This is usually the case for those with high blaming behavior. The said behavior is the type which drives people to project all of their faults on to others. When there is something wrong, the mistake was never theirs.

If they are unreliable, then they are surely someone with an attitude problem. As a professional who is working in a church, there are times when the less unfortunate people will rely on them for a few necessities. Being an unreliable person means that he or she can change mind and even reverse his or her decisions any time.

There are also times when the said professional does not even care the consequences of his or her actions. They do not understand that their actions are connected to other people. If they are such people, then they might have little to no conscience at all. They do not care about other people aside from themselves.

Pathological lying is also a trait of such professionals who have attitude problems. This means that they can lie if they consider this to be helpful to their image and if the lie will not be discovered. If the lie is discovered or followed up on, they will simply imply that the other person is wrong and that the lie was never said in the first place.

Rationalizing is not really a bad thing, unless someone uses it to twist conversations in order to gain at other people's expense. This is surely a problematic deal. If those who rationalize in a twisted way get trapped themselves, they end up taking continuously or changing subjects. They might even get angry.

There are other things that one has to be aware of when they want to know about the attitude of the traveling pastor. Make sure to identify beforehand if they are self-centered or not. This way, one can make the right decisions on whether to work with them or not or how they should be dealt with.
