Apart from the casinos and clubs, Vegas features masses of other attractions near the strip. Some of the finest are also some of the most strange, including amusement parks in Las Vegas. Some great examples are given below.
Dig This
One of the most recent theme parks in Las Vegas, but rapidly becoming quite popular is Dig This. This site allows clients to operate heavy gear used in construction, using a combination of excavators and bulldozers. After safety instruction, clients are let lose with their rigs in a large dust filled construction site and guided through an earth-moving experience lasting up to 3 hours. The cabs are air-conditioned and operated under the direction of an instructor. Driver's license is not required.
Vegas Indoor Skydiving
Ever wished to try skydiving but the very idea of jumping from heights discourages you? This is the solution. After a brief instruction period, guests change into jump suits and then enter a wind tunnel that lifts you up in the air and feels like you are flying. Guests remain under surveillance while flying and are safely brought back to the ground when the flight is over. Lasting around an hour, this amusement park in Las Vegas is a smart way to spend part of your trip.
Exotics Racing
Ever wanted to be a race driver? Here is your chance. Found at the Vegas Motor Speedway, Exotics Racing gives its clients a choice of driving 5 laps in a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Porsche, Nissan GT-R or Audi R8 sports autos. Newer models are added to the available cars per year. Each driver is under the direction of a safety instructor. Another option available is simply to be a passenger while a professional race auto driver drives the sports car round the track at speeds over 200 mph.
Adventure Dome Theme Parks
These indoor theme parks in Las Vegas at the Circus Circus are open to everyone. It is not important to be a guest of the Circus Circus to visit the park. This is a true family activity in Las Vegas where everybody will find something of interest to do. There are roller coasters, Ferris wheels, aerial buses, midway games of all types, a large colonnade, mini bowling center and access to free circus shows. All this is available for one entry price for all day access.
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
Wish to get away from all of the lights for awhile? Red Rock Ravine is a state park 13 miles outside of Las Vegas and will give you a wonderful view of the natural plants and animals in the Nevada area. Animals include roadrunners, jack rabbits, butterflies and various birds. Plants include the Joshua tree, scrub oak, cottonwood, and a few kinds of yucca. Going to the visitor center, you can arrange for led walks or self led tours of the 13 mile drive through the park. It is a wonderful idea to bring water and any food you want to eat with you as the only buy at the park is the gift shop which just has a few nibbles.
What About Las Vegas Water Parks?
LV seems a great place for water parks, but Las Vegas water parks closed in 2007. With the swimming pools at the hotels and resorts, the Las Vegas water parks just didn't draw enough business.
We hope you will find these tips useful and will choose to visit at least one of the attractions above.
