Not all have the best performance in stopping that projectile that will end your life. Most if not all the better armors out there are made of Kevlar or some form of composite that includes Kevlar. Kevlar is a most popular material as this is the most durable and flexible.

Therefore should you be out in the market looking for that extra protection for yourself or someone, then there are a few things to keep in mind before you open up your wallet and buy. Most will buy based on popularity or cheaper price, but this should not always be the case. Read on for a few other things to consider when making your armor purchase.

General evidence that you can look for that the armor you are buying has the necessary safety standards and safety testing can be done by looking for proper labels. Labels on the unit you buy should include manufacturer name, date, lot number and also protection rating. Definitely do not buy one that has been five or more years just sitting there since standards would have changed since then. Should you find the proper label and information this can go a lot to determining that what you are buying is the real deal and something that has not been made in China.

The carriers should also be comfortable and durable and can take a lot of wear and tear. The carrier is basically the pocket wherein one places selected ballistic panels and padding. Once installed, these ballistic pads should not be moving around and give you a bulky feeling. You should always be comfortable when wearing this.

When purchasing your future armor also take into consideration the straps it has. Straps on it should be flexible as well as adjustable for your overall comfort and fit. When checking straps keep an eye on how it is stitched and that it is reinforced. Stitching should not protrude and should somehow be level or below the material, as this will make your skin itch or irritated on prolonged use. Check that the strap buckles are made of sturdy material and are not easily broken.

Whether you are a man or a woman will also be a slight factor in your purchasing decision. Although most manufacturers do not take this into account, some actually do. How heavy or light your body frame is will also factor in to your final decision.

Thus these are some important things to look at when you are about to go out and purchase your concealable body armor. Although it may seem a bit much to look at, it is nonetheless important. Always be thorough in looking over these things so that you do not compromise your safety.
