The methods by which people get and transmit information has been completely revolutionized by technology. The touching of a button can enable one to receive instant updates as opposed to having to wait a day or more to know what is going on in the world. A couple of the alternate methods of receiving the top headlines include Internet search engines, cable news, social networking sites, talk shows on the radio, apps on mobile telephones, and the electronic versions of popular publications. These divergent sources will be examined below.

Search engines are a top way to get the latest headlines. They have entire sections dedicated to news and yet others to weather and other sub-topics. These websites take steps further and track which of the latest stories are trending to be the most popular as the day goes on. People can also post comments about stories which appear on the sites.

Networks on cable provide people with news and the most recent evens. Informational and talk shows appear on these channels, which highlight the top topics, headlines, and trends currently taking place. Unlike the evening news of the past, these channels can be viewed at all times during the day, enabling one to get the most current headlines anytime.

Social networking sites have transformed the manner by which people and businesses get information. These websites are utilized by millions of firms and individuals with the purpose of forming relations for business and personal reasons. Many a modern person will find out the most current news by visiting the home page of these sites or by reading information posted by those on their friend lists.

Talk radio is a popular method of receiving information. There are people who host radio shows, and in between broadcasts, there are typically newscasts with the latest headlines. While not many methods of finding information were available in years past, today there are many alternative news sources available that people can turn to in order to obtain the latest headlines and information. Some of these are social media, cable news, mobile phone apps, search engines, and more. It can be said that technology has transformed the ways that people are getting and receiving information.
