Zombie T-Shirts Reflect Your Chance For Survival

By Matthew Thatcher

For every fan boy who's ever watched a Romero flick, you're worst dreams are about to come true. The zombies are coming, and the world will end in the ever-hungry maws of the undead. I'm just having a lark, of course...or am I? How well do you feel you'll do during these horrific times? Is there any chance of surviving the worst possible calamity the world has every seen? How will you know what kind of people to team up with during your run through the gauntlet? Well, I think that the type of t-shirts they wear will give you an instant idea into their personality type...or should I say, zombie t-shirts?

How many times have you seen the collective works of George Romero during your youth? Do you get mad when movies feature improbably fast zombies? Don't they know that the muscles are rotting in a zombie corpse and that they only grow weaker with time? Such nerve in these filmmakers these days! If you agreed to anything you just read, you may just be a Nerd survivor. Nerd survivors are a wealth of knowledge on the subject of zombies, and will be invaluable. They have a 0% chance of survival unless they quickly find a protector-type. They will be wearing zombie t-shirts that are covered with all kinds of zombie references.

One of the best (and worst) survivor types to run across in this dystopian wasteland are the Combatants. Combatants are hardcore to the bone, and probably have some extensive knowledge of martial skills from their lives pre-apocalypse. They are gruff and no-nonsense. The only problem is that they tend to come in two varieties: the kind who will fight their way to safety through a mass of zombie flesh, and the kind who will fight anyone who crosses their path. These guys have no intention of saving humanity, just themselves and (hopefully) their friends. These guys have a great knack for surviving, and will most likely be wearing zombie t-shirts that feature large caliber weapons on them.

The third type of zombie outbreak survivalist is the Savior. Saviors are not merely trying to save the lives of the people they come across, but also are trying to preserve whatever semblance of a moral high ground that they can manage under such terrible conditions. Saviors have a deep need to make certain that no one adheres to the philosophy of "monsters we are, lest monsters we become." Saviors are trying to save humanity as well as humans. Their survival rate is fairly good because their group does not fall to despair so quickly. The Savior's zombie t-shirts will undoubtedly have some kind of inspirational slogan on them...hopefully, "Live Laugh Love."

There are, of course, lots more examples of survivor types out there. You may not even be able to judge them accurately by their zombie t-shirts, especially once they become sufficiently covered in gore and zombie pieces. A good rule of thumb is to avoid anyone with a chainsaw and find a gun as soon as possible. A melee weapon wouldn't hurt too much either. Nor would a riot shield.
