Each country takes its delicate affairs with a lot of caution and care as they may deserve. All affairs of state must, at all times, be carefully looked after, and should be kept away from everyone. They have to be prevented from reaching ordinary citizens for the sole purpose of providing security for them. Most of the items address matters such as the security of people, and, hence, must be taken seriously.

In America, the Secretary of state is in charge of such matters. He deals with all foreign affairs; he acts as the main adviser of the president on foreign issues, and also accomplishes the foreign policies developed by the president. Foreign policies include foreign services, civil services and the agency meant to foster international development. He/she does all these activities through the department of state. John Kerry is the current office holder.

At the moment, he represents the country and their views on several important issues around the world. In the times that have passed, he has presented the views of his country concerning the condition of Syria, Somalia, Iran, and Russia. He did not leave out the other countries faced with conflicts. Kerry has also uttered the opinions held by his country touching modern discussions such as same sex marriages, female circumcision, change in climate and the millennium goals of development.

This office also has the duty of establishing good relationship between the US and each country in this world. This objective is usually achieved through giving assistance; both financial and non-financial to nations that may be in need of such assistance. It is through such cooperation that good relationship sprouts.

This office also looks at environmental, energy and economic matters. The most notable economic matters addressed by the secretary of state are climate change, food security, science and technology, trade policies and programs, small and disadvantaged business utilization.

In the weapon regulation and international security area, the department handles security regulation, methods for countering terrorism, trade regulation, diplomatic security, formulation of anti-narcotic laws, military-political matters among many other activities. A lot of these activities are aimed at ensuring that there is peace in the entire country. This department also deals with security for civilians and democracy. The main issues under this docket are conflict resolution and stabilization, fighting internal terrorists, criminal justice, stopping human trafficking, women matters among others.

Under the docket of public diplomacy, they address a number of issues which include briefing the press, press releases, updating and registration of occurrences, public affairs, culture, education, history and relations with other nations among several other functions. This group of activities is composed of the major activities meant to facilitate international cooperation and understanding.

The last category of activities carried out by this department is the assistance and development department. This department is responsible for keeping all the resources of the US foreign assistance sector. It is also home for the office of global health diplomacy, the United States of America Agency for International Development and the AIDS relief. All the assistance given by the country to different needy people all over the world is authorized by this department.
