Premise For Christian Arguments Against Evolution

By Essie Osborn

Science and religion have always presented divergent ideas. According to Christians, God is the ultimate creator of everything that we see, man included. Contrastingly, the scientists approach this issue by proposing many hypotheses and theories such as that of evolution. There have been heightened arguments on this thorny issue. Christian arguments against evolution have been received differently.

Charles Darwin is taken as the father of evolution. In his book called The Origin of Species he tries to explain how we evolved from our ancestors, the apes. This was prompted by two factors. First, we needed to adapt to changing environmental conditions. Two, our genetic composition underwent transformation, giving us newer traits.

For the Christians, The Bible provides a true account of how heaven and earth came to be. Genesis one tells us that God created man in His to be like Him in appearance. When man fell into a deep sleep, God removed one of his ribs from which woman was created. They were given the Garden of Eden to be their source of food and shelter. From there they were to increase the population of earth through reproduction.

Most theologians of the Christian religion have for a long time demonized the evolution theory. The issue of man having to emerge out of a lesser being is clearly outrageous, in their view. If those chemical equations put forward were able to work, then it could be possible by now to raise the dead or to create a person from scratch, given the intense researches that have been conducted in this area.

The numerous predictions about the end of the world have come from calculations based on available data and issues such as climate change. A case in point was the Two Thousand Millennium when everything was in a standstill. This goes to the favor of the believers of Christ since their master warned them that no one knows the day or the hour when He shall return. They only need to diligently await His return when they start seeing the signs of the end times.

Darwinian arguments contradict religious teachings and are thus unwelcome in the church. Just a mere man cannot possess such knowledge unless revealed to him by the gods, yet Darwin did not believe in creation, leave alone the existence of God. This is just theory and its truthfulness and wrongness is disputable. However, it is hard to dismiss the credibility of holy writings. These were proclaimed by the all knowing creator.

Faith issues are quite hard to deal with since people have diverse beliefs and everyone thinks their belief is the best. It is virtually impossible convince a large mass of people out of their faith. The common belief is that the earth has never changed but the people in it have made it what it is. The beliefs that various people have adopted have influenced their behaviors.

The persisting phenomenon is now where scientists are conducting more research to establish the sloppy truth. As for the Christians, the truth has come and the Messiah is coming back to prove it. Who knows, maybe one group will win, or things will continue like this until eternity. We only have to wait and see.
