What To Know About Solid Color Ties

A tie, also known as a necktie, refers to a piece of long cloth that is worn around the shoulders or neck. Typically this is worn for decorative purposes. Usually it is situated to rest under a shirt collar and knotted up at the neck. Variations of this accessory include clip-on, bow, ascot, zipper or bolo ties, or cravats. Solid color ties are one of the many styles that are available.

Many times these are worn by males. Still, there are females who like to wear these as well. The pieces can be purchased from nearly any retail store that has clothing and accessories in stock. Prices will vary based on factors including seller, brand, material and style.

Like many other accessories, these come in numerous styles. Some may have a pattern or design. Others might be of one color and include no pattern. There are some people who like to have solid kinds because they are easier to wear and can match with nearly any outfit. Still, the kind that is chosen is usually determined by the style and personal preference of the person who wears them. There are usually no rules for how these should be worn, expect when part of a uniform.

This accessory might be worn with formal or casual outfits. The style or material of a piece may help a person decide what event or occasion it works best for. Certain jobs or job positions might require these be worn as part of the uniform. In these instances, solid styles are often the standard.

There is a history behind this neckwear. Some variation of these items has existed since circa 1600s. The material, use and style of the neckwear has evolved in many respects since that time period. However, they are still frequently worn today to make a fashion statement.

These pieces might also be regarded as a visual symbol. That is, many people associate tie wearers with individuals who are important or hold a high status. This is not always the case, but there is a connotation that widely exists. This is why men and women often wear these as part of formal wear and for important occasions. Still, there are many options available for those interested in wearing these on a day-to-day basis as part of casual wear.

Different fabrics are used in production of ties. The most common materials used are silk, satin, wool, cashmere and polyester. These different fabrics may give off their own look, especially when made in one color. Wool, solid kinds may give the tie more texture and dimension, which can add to the overall look. Synthetic fabrics are known to snag and may look inexpensive and cheap after a couple wears, so these might be best avoided. However, consider the occasion and your budget.

A lot of people are willing to invest in a good tie because they can go a long way if they are taken care of and of high quality. This is particularly true for solid color ties, which are extremely versatile in many wardrobes. Essentially, ties are a timeless piece when it comes to menswear.
