Tips In Hiring A Professional Voice Talent

By Sarah Cook

The quality of voice you have can tell a lot about a person. Heck, it can even make us fantasize about a person. Having a sweet, child like one can immediately make us think that we are talking to a kid. When we hear a deep, husky quality, we conjure up a thought in our heads that we are talking to a smoldering hot guy.

Bringing sweet dreams and nightmares is really a skill. A voice talent is certainly someone you will want to hire when it comes to cartoons, audible books, and everything else that requires giving sounds to certain characters and roles. A huge difference can be seen between a professional one and one who is not.

If ever you are looking for one by any chance, there certainly are some things that you should consider first before you say yes to the talent. The first step to everything is research. Try looking it up on the internet. We heard that is knows anything and anyone. You also can inquire from your family and friends.

Whenever you have found some potential candidates, ask each of them for a sample demo. You can customize it or not. Generic ones are usually good enough, the important things is you get a glimpse of how the person does things. You can actually tell if he or she might be the one you truly are looking for or not.

You are the boss of this show, or game, or audio book. Whatever it is, you still are the one on top. Their performance sort of depends also on what you ask them to do. Guide them. Act as an director. Carry a microphone around if you have to. After all, no one says no to the boss. You really can just kick them out if they disobey.

Have mercy on the person who wishes to audition for you. You should do everything in your power to make his or her life easier. Try giving them a very specific script. Make sure it can be read easily. They surely will thank you for this and think that you are the best. Plus, in the end, this benefits both of you.

It may not sound funny on your mind but it may be in real life. Try leading it out loud and see it it is okay. Get and grasp the feel of it around your tongue. Articulate it well and pronounce it the best way you can possibly do. If you can do it, then your voice actor will not have an excuse to say no to the script.

Reassure yourself first that the cost you are paying for coincides with the service you are most likely to receive. Never settle for something that is priced too much. If the quality sucks, leave it and start looking for another one. There always will be others out there. You just have to look more closely into it.

Also see to it that you guys get along pretty well. Partnership is something that cannot be avoided here. You possibly will be working together for the whole morning and night. This could go on for weeks, months, and even years. If ever you guys do not see eye to eye, there really is a big possibility that this project is ruined.
