Education: the future of Europe

By Baixo Minho

Education and politics

There is a political debate on the contribution of education and training to reduce youth unemployment. There are many studies and reports that support the need to buttress the role of training and education, especially in young age.

These reports present a mixed image of progress, with some positive signs. But much remains to be done to enhance the abilities base in Europe and reduce rates of early college leaving and enhancing the employability of people leaving the education system and coaching.

They also stress the significance of making an investment in education reforms and learning to support supportable growth and create roles, underlining the necessity for a real follow-up by Member States of the European Union on the top-level political direction.

Levels of education

One or two European inspectors show that education and learning are a part of the solution of the recovery from the existing monetary emergency in Europe and called on Member States to strengthen their efforts to attain the main goals of the EU Union in early college leaving and higher level of education.

However , some member states are making cuts in education and learning for the sole point of reducing its deficit due to external pressures. This is a vision that clashes with all reports made and that is making moves in contrast to the advice

What about countries? These cuts, if carried out, could produce the opposite effect of increased unemployment in the short and medium term and as a consequence further worsen the present situation of youth work in these countries.

In particular, nations like Spain or Greece for example, have a youth jobless rate too high, well above the Western european average. This situation suggests that youngsters have to ask to look for work abroad, searching for occasions to work in other nations such as Germany, Sweden and Norway to name a couple

In this sense, online coaching is a good example. Digital Marketing can provide good results in training.
