How To Make A Custom T Shirt Transfers Designs

By Timothy Lewis

Printing a custom t-shirt goes far beyond deciding what color to purchase. It starts with the design and then follows a logical process leading up to a place where it ends up across someone s chest. The most grueling of these processes, however, is deciding on which method one should use to print. Each one has its perks and its downfalls and a few decisions need to be taken about t shirt transfers designs.

Firstly, how will the business or brand material be printed. As different ways of printing have different strengths and are suited to some types of functions more than others. One could argue that it s a t-shirt and that as long as what they want printed appears then it doesn t matter what method they used. But those people couldn t be any more wrong.

For mass produced products it is usually the type of printing to root for but it does require more dedication and time in order to master before the doors can be opened for people looking to print their custom shirts.

The direct to garment technique. This is a different beast altogether and requires whatever is being transferred to be printed directly onto the garment, like a blank t-shirt for example. This t-shirt printing method is great for professional looking finished products and makes the cost of creating them really cheap. Especially when you consider the fact that it can print in a wide variety of colors.

But because the method is so old, it s not perfect and is susceptible to some faults, mainly, that depending on what is being printed on the t-shirt. For example, screen printing is very limited when one considers and factors in the aspects of resolution. If one is seeking to print images or prints in high resolution, this method is definitely the wrong one to use.

By using a hard surface, one can then use an iron or anything that generates heat to iron the transfer paper onto the t-shirt. One should ensure that they have placed that shirt in question on a flat surface because any creases that are there will appear.

But the following method needs little or no room for error because it s a more restrictive printing method. Furthermore, there to be printed high start-up costs as one requires special cutters, heat press, and software in order to make it possible to do anything. These barriers to entry can be a turn off for some and to it being a niche product, per say.

There are many ways to customize a t-shirt through printing, but the above mentioned should work best for large scale and small scale printing. Because once everything is said and done, whether the printing has been done professionally or through a DIY method, it s about having a unique item of clothing that can be worn, a way to promote a brand or even be given as a gift to a friend or a loved one or even a colleague
