What You Need To Know About Clothing Labels

By Stephanie Fisher

Many people are unaware of the producer of most of their garments. This may make it easier for people who like your garment to get the same item. Due to this reason, companies specialized in producing clothes have decided to add Clothing Labels to their products to make it easier for potential clients to trace back the source of the products. The method is thus considered a marketing strategy.

A common type of label used are woven ones. They tend to last as long as the garment. This will allow marketing of the company as the new customers wear clothes with the labels thus attracting other people into purchasing clothes from the company. Using an effective label that lasts longer is thus an innovative way of promoting clothes made by a company.

Companies also need to ensure that the labels are of high quality before attaching them to the garments. This will avoid cases in which the fonts on the label are easily erased during washing or drying of the garment. Poor quality of the label may also result in peeling off of the front part of the label thus tampering with the quality of the label thus making it unable to perform the intended purpose.

While choosing a label for your garment, you have to ensure that it suits the garment that you intend to attach the label on. An aspect that you need to consider is the color. The garment and labels should have similar colors. The type of material used for the label can also be similar to the material used to make the garment for uniformity.

A company has two main options of label types to choose from the woven and printed ones. In the printed type of label, the font is printed onto the material. Common materials used for printed labeling include acetate, satin, cotton twill, nylon, and polyester. The fonts are printed onto the material using a permanent ink that can withstand repeated washing.

The printed labeling method is however not as withstanding as the woven ones as the font is likely to be washed out with frequent washing. Although they do not last as long as the woven ones, they are cheaper as they are easily manufactured and are of high quality. This may be the reason as to why many companies are preferring this type of labeling for their garments.

The woven type of tags is the other option for those who do not prefer the printed type. They are commonly preferred in instances when they are required to last over a long period as they are more durable than the printed types. The main disadvantage of the material is the itchy and scratchy feeling experienced by clients who wear garments with the woven tags.

It is fairly easy for you to acquire a label that you can use for your garments as they are easily available in online stores at huge discounts. For companies that require the products in bulk can contact manufacturers who specialize in producing the tags. This will also allow you to customize the tag to your needs and have them mass produced.
