Global War On Terror Memorial

By Harold West

The whole idea of memorials in the subject of terrorism constitutes the need to remember and express our heartfelt feelings to those whose lives have been cut short because of bomb blasts. States should therefore join hands in a bid to win the Global War on Terror Memorial. It is because a good fraction of the global population has been eliminated inhumanly by wicked men and women.

Out of the ashes of grisly sites of bombings comes efforts by sovereign nations to adopt action plans to end the continuous threats on national securities. This will mean that establishment of memorials of blast victims will be reduced significantly. As if this is not all, the resources that would have been used in conducting counter-terrorism research will be channeled to other areas of national interest.

Use of drone attacks by the United States in Islamic nations has broadened the bridge between them and Jihadists. Fearing for their defeat, the Al-Qaeda starts to recruiting new members to their legions. This strengthens their military power which challenges efforts by governments to end their spread. Putting an end to the drone attacks will reduce terror infiltration into stable securities.

Jihadists continue to add to their efforts to cause security instability because some members fail to escape the long arm of the law. Upon arrest they hold them without charges as they are not given a chance to undergo a court trial process. Governments are then viewed to be hypocritical in their administration of justice. Terrorists resent this. In return, they avenge them by attacking innocent lives. To end this, perpetrators should face trial.

There have been several indiscriminate airstrikes in the Middle East. These attacks claim a lot of innocent lives. Civilians and those affected then try seeking compensation which in most cases is inadequate. This makes Islam radicals to view this as disregard to the right of life by the US. Apologizing to the victims of these attacks and compensating them fully will reduce the urge of vengeance from the affected.

To win the fight on frequent memorials, national governments who have deployed soldiers and military contractors to terrorist hotspots should withdraw all their legions in those areas. If this move is effected, it would remove the intent of Islam radicals to cross borders to engage in armed resistance to start bomb attacks on innocent civilians.

Supporting dictatorship and repressive militaries by the developed countries has been a tool for terrorist leaders to strengthen their troops. For instance, the signing of arms deal with the monarch of Saudi Arabia whose government sent tank rockets into the neighboring Bahrain to suppress a democratic uprising there. This move to hinder peaceful protester has received a very negative response by the terror groups who resolve to vengeful missions.

To end the frequent bombings that bring about death and pain into lives of innocent civilians, states are urged to ensure that they adhere to the international rule of law. This is not the case with most nations who upon arresting alleged terrorists they carry out their secret killings. Due to these prejudicial exterminations of group members, other terror attacks are made to avenge those killed without trial.
