How To Prepare For A Sure Win Elvis Tribute

By Mattie Knight

People who have inspired us tremendously usually end up being our role models. They could be anyone. They could be those people whom you personally know or those that you only see on television. Either ways, you like them because their example speaks of something that is reflective of whatever you are doing or want to achieve.

Those entities who are working on the music industry for instance are among the most impactful ones around the world. And as means to give some sort of gratitude to them, events like the Elvis tribute San Francisco are conducted. This particular event is specifically held to remember Mr. Presleys huge and global contribution in music.

To those who consider themselves as avid fans of Elvis, then joining competitions as tributes is a very welcome opportunity. And if you are part of those who would like to try out the impersonation category, then as early as now, you should already start preparing. Have a look at the things you can start doing from your end.

Learn more about Elvis. This is a basic and something that is a must. Of course, you cannot just go on copying someone without knowing their backgrounds. You may not have met Mr. Presley in person so to get a feel of who he is and the life he lived, then better do some reading.

Get familiar and practice the way he carries himself. Anything, even those that others may dismiss as a minor matter could make a difference. From the way he walks, his gestures on stage, his favorite pick up lines if any, and all other related things can come in handy when you start performing. Those who are avid fans of the icon could recognize the mannerisms easily.

Prepare your wardrobe. Your attempt to impersonate will not be complete without the get up. Its basically like cosplaying. But rather than dressing up like your favorite anime or cartoon character, what you do is to copy Elvis. This means that you should also ready the clothing, the hairstyle, skin tone and other accessories that can help you complete the get up.

Polish up the voicing. The entire package will not be complete in the absence of the voice. More than that of his trademark appearance, Elvis Presley became so popular because of his good voice in singing. You should at least try your best to imitate his voicing. This of course, requires practice and more of it.

Rehearse with audience and get feedback. Your audience can be anyone who wishes to listen and watch to how you perform. A good way to start is to invite some of your family members and friends in. Ask them to comment objectively and correct you in case they notice something different. If you can get someone on board who is an Elvis fan, the better.

There is no shortcut to perfecting the impersonation. So if you would like to grab the win, then its only natural that you spend time preparing. Get some work done now.
