Learn More About Garmin Nuvi 3790T GPS

Because of its incredibly small profile, when the Garmin Nuvi 3790T GPS hit the market last year, a few eyebrows were raised. Regardless, this unit is a completely functional GPS that will handle just about anything the average consumer needs. Not just limited to GPS units, this type of micro-design is popular and has been an ongoing trend for several years. Actually, you might even say that in the ultra-slim department, the GPS devices are a bit behind the times. There are so many features and functions in the GPS unit, it is really hard to think of what might be around in three to five years. Time will only tell what the future holds because the Nuvi 3790T may have started a new trend. I am an ultrasound technician earning a good ultrasound technician salary. In my spare time, I really enjoy collecting the latest information of any product with top technology. Actually, I know the new Garmin Nuvi 3790T GPS is fashionable in many ultrasound technician schools in California because it makes ultrasound technician students drive simple and cool. I simply decided to buy this device even though this need a relatively large percentage of my monthly ultrasound technician salary.

A new feature we have noticed is the capacitive glass variety of touchscreen where you can use a pinching action to zoom in either direction. You might notice however that the Nuvi 3790T multi-touch function isn't quite as advanced as the Android or the iPhone. Even if the effect doesn't seem to be as smooth or seamless, it doesn't take away from the way it operates or its effectiveness. In ambient lighting conditions, the lack of light sensors for adjustments can be a minor drawback. With the high quality screen display, that issue is almost a moot point.

Beside the City Navigator® NT, the SUNA Traffic Channel which offers a subscription that is valid for life is also a Nuvi 3790T standard. One issue with using such a low-profile design is it there wasn't enough room left to include a FM receiver. So that you can get the SUNA traffic updates, you do need to have a receiver. This means you will need a charge unit which also houses the FM receiver. Since the charger is a mobile device it does allow you to get traffic updates when you are on the road.

It also has Bluetooth capability so that you can make hands-free phone calls. Because the microphone seems to be the last thing that gets installed and usually isn't very high quality, you will want to experiment with the device a bit.

However with trafficTrends, the Nuvi 3790T has made improvements with using alternative routes rather than constantly using major thoroughfares. A feature related to that is myTrends which learns the most traveled routes that you take on daily basis and will display it. So you can make a choice of the data source depending on what your needs are at that moment. You have the capability to disable the myTrend feature if you find you need to use another routing solution.

According to reports, it seems that the 3790T outperforms other Garmin GPS units, especially in areas of processing and voice recognition. However, there have been some reports as well about minor decreases in other areas of speech recognition performance. There can be a lot of reasons that people differ in their opinion, the top one being attributed to individual preferences.

Taking Care of Your Navigation Needs with the Garmin Nuvi 3790T GPS

What you can expect in the Garmin Nuvi 3790T is both tradition and innovation. Garmin's electronic products offer traditional reliability. The representation of innovative engineering along with a new design style is what we want to see in a new GPS model. There are several possible explanations to account for the all-new very slimmed down device profile.

When creating consumer electronics, ergonomic considerations are something that have to be addressed. However, the convenience factor for carrying the Nuvi 3790T in your shirt pocket and Pedestrian navigation mode addresses a new marketing demand. Its too early yet to see if Garmin's latest release is a hit though. Also, in case you're interested, you should definitely check out the GoPro HERO, it is very good and definitely one of my most loved gadgets. Here is a GoPro HD HERO review.

There never seems to be a let-up in the demand for 3-D and this seems to be something that is desired along with the clear trend toward micro-designs and very small profiles. There seem to be many people who love the sense of realism. Garmin worked to meet this need by creating a proprietary 3-D imaging algorithm for buildings and terrain. The high detailed street maps of the City Navigator® NT also comes with the Nuvi 3970T. Six million points of interest in the US, Canada and Mexico is something that this provides. The City Navigator® NT will show the locations of a wide variety of places such as restaurants, hotels, gas stations, ATM's, stores of all kinds, entertainment locations and much more.

Although it doesn't include absolutely everything, with the use of the 3-D Building and Terrain capability, it will be able to show you major buildings and the surrounding terrain.

Consumers are demanding voice activation and control, and this GPS does include advanced speech recognition.

There are so many features available that we can't cover them all in detail. Various software for making just about any kind of calculated conversion you would ever need.

Garmin Connect can download pictures of places so if you are traveling around the country and need ideas of where to go, you can just download then navigate to whatever place seems interesting. Not everyone will find that feature appealing, but others may find it very helpful for their needs. Another feature is Garmin Lock, the anti-theft device and it also offers Garmin Garage where you can download customized security features.

According to reports, it seems that the 3790T outperforms other Garmin GPS units, especially in areas of processing and voice recognition. Some reports on minor decreases in the performance in other areas of speech recognition have come in too. There can be a lot of reasons that people differ in their opinion, the top one being attributed to individual preferences. Before you go, don't forget to look at this GoPro surf review.
