The Advantages African Wildlife Conservation

By Kenneth Hill

The loss of species and habitats every year has speared the emergence of many conservation movements and organizations in Africa. Habitats are being destructed to pave the way for construction and other development projects. This has led to pollution increase and loss of biodiversity. African Wildlife Conservation has created awareness for sustainable developments. Wild animals, as well as plants protection, have a number of merits as discussed in this article.

Wildlife is one of the critical attraction sites in Africa. Many people travel from places to come and see creatures that are hard to see anywhere else. Unfortunately, poaching and poor resource utilization have led to the extinction of these wonders of the world. Protecting them ensures that tourists will keep coming throughout the year. A significant amount of revenue is collected from tourism and used for other developmental purposes.

Conservation promotes recreation activities. Both the youths and adults enjoy recreational events such as fishing, bird watching, and hunting. Preserving endangered flora and fauna supports these activities for the current generation, without forgetting the upcoming generation. Many governmental and nongovernmental organizations control the park activities to ensure that the endangered animals or plants are not destroyed during such events.

Conservation plays a significant role in protecting the biodiversity against inappropriate exploitation while safeguarding the endangered species. This helps in ensuring that all the current creatures live to enjoy and to reproduce without being killed or destroyed by human activities. Sustainable use of these resources enhances a healthy interaction with the environment and human, without denying the future generation a chance to interact with them.

Protecting the wildlife ensures there is plenty of food supply. Many wild plants and animals serve as a source of food, medicine and building materials for the human. Having a single species in a vast field is risky, as that species can be wiped out by diseases and drought more that it can happen if the animals were many. Preservation ensures that other animals and plant has enough source of food.

Protected biodiversity can be used for research. There are a variety of undiscovered animals and plants. There creates an opportunity for researchers to identify them and the distinguishing features about them. Many students and researchers take their time in forests leaning carrying out experiments. Protecting these species gives the future generation of exploring more about the wildlife.

Wildlife conservation creates aesthetic value while offering the psychological merits. Various outdoor activities such as nature walk and hiking on weekends or holidays can help you to relax and reduce the everyday work stress. This improves your moods and confidence as you interact with the preserved fauna and flora. Having these outdoor activities can impact positively on your know knowledge as you will be learning new things every time.

Wild plants and animals are environmental indicators. Indigenous plants shed leaves to indicate the likelihood of drought and various animals migrate from one location to another indicating the same thing. Plants also play a significant role in improving the environment by reducing erosion, absorbing carbon and increasing urban green space.
