By Anthony Scott

Artists express their feelings through the painting masterpieces that they work on. It is often stated that a picture can be described in more than a thousand words. That being said, it is only left to your imagination to determine the collection of words that can form the perfect description of a Custom Mural Design. The sublime blend of pigments on the surface of a wall leaves onlookers with no other choice but to dangle in awe.

Muralists are a unique collection of artists, because unlike other painters or members of the impressionist movements, their art is expressed directly on the wall of a building structure. Therefore, the picture forms an essential part of the general architectural plan. Upon viewing, you will see that the painting on the wall forms a critical part of the structure, whilst modifying the spatial stretches of the work area.

Apart from the fact that murals form an integral part of the general architectural outlook, the art expressed on the walls should also exude a miasma of social significance. Muralists tend to design their work in a manner that conveys a certain significant societal theme that affects individuals within the locality. The idea should be depicted clearly, without altering the structural plan.

From ancient to modern times, muralists across many communities have employed various techniques of producing their art masterpieces. Among the techniques used include; tempera, encaustic, fresco and, more contemporarily, oil on canvas wall murals. However, during the Classical Greco-Roman Age, encaustic and tempera paintings were mostly produced. In the former, bee wax was liquefied and used as a binder, whereas in the latter, the binder used was either a diluted egg yolk or white.

As aforementioned, modern or contemporary techniques of producing murals came much later, and it was only during the early years of the sixteenth century that oil on canvas artists began producing decorative canvas artworks as murals. However, the only drawback of using this form of painting is that the binder normally used, reduces the quality of pigments and makes them assume an unpleasant look if subjected to bad climatic conditions.

Custom mural expressions are appealing to the eye, and may be the reason that has jarred their increased popularity. The enormous size of the pictorial expression on canvas truly veils all other graphical expression known in historical and modern times. Installing one in your business premises will surely command the attention of your clients, regardless of whether they are repeated customers or new.

Repeated surveys have indicated that by installing murals in your commercial establishment, you can realize a shoot in revenues. It is believed that the messages underlying a mural can evoke instinctive buying, because the bold pigments used in the during painting evoke certain sensations that compel shoppers to buy on a whim.

Another benefit of using wall murals is that more efficient and easy to maintain than paint. As a matter of fact, paints take a lifetime to complete. As if that is not enough, it takes a long while before they are completely dry. Contrary to that, murals dry shortly after completion and their installation is barely tiresome.
