Analyzing Abstract Art East Coast

By Thomas Johnson

To most people, abstraction in art is simply something that does not hold any meaning. It is just some random creation made out of the mind of an impulsive person who did not really know what else to create. However, the truth of that matter is that abstract art east coast is not mere randomness but a deep and profound representation of whatever is in the mind of an artist when the artwork was created.

Now, one thing to remember about these kinds of artwork is that it does not have any direct representation. Most artworks are usually a representation of something. For example, a painting of a river is literally a painting that an artist did of an actual river that the painter was looking at and wanted to paint.

Throughout the years, artists have strived to make their artworks look exactly like their subjects. This became the benchmark of how good an artist is. However, there were many artists who felt that abstraction in art had a deeper meaning and decided to popularize this type of art until it became mainstream.

The thing about abstraction is that its meaning is actually quite complex because it is open to so many interpretations. Though the final output of this type of art may look random, it does represent the culture and the situation of the creator during what time period he or she was in. For a person to understand this kind of artwork, it is important to first understand the artist.

When trying to understand this type of art, one must always think about two things, namely the mood and the emotion. The mood would pertain the mood of the artist during the creation. The emotion, on the other hand, would refer to the emotions that inspired the reason for the creation of his or her artwork. Both will determine what was on the mind of the creator when he or she made the piece.

The next thing to consider would be the emotion behind the artwork. It is important to take note of why the artist created the masterpiece in the first place and what feelings he had that lead him or her to create it. Art is usually inspired by emotions that would stem out of certain reasons. In order to understand the work, one must first understand the emotions that lead to the reason.

Finally, the onlooker must also consider his or her own feelings and how he or she regards the artwork. Even after analyzing the origin of the artwork, it is very important to also feel it and combine it with an individual perspective. This will give a whole well rounded view of the piece of art.

Always remember that the purpose of a piece of artwork is to nourish the soul. By taking into consideration these three things, it will aid in better understanding not only the artwork but also oneself. The beautiful thing about abstract art is that it does not just look at the world from a one sided point of view but from a very broad perspective which is why it is possible to learn so much from it.
