People Want To Know How To Write A Stage Play

By Eula Clarke

Many talented actors and writers are currently living within the United States and other places across the globe. Some of these individuals know how to write a stage play for small and large theatre companies. There are certain elements which need to be added into these scripts before they are actually viewed by certain audience members. Any person who is interested in this task needs to know about a script, interesting characters, a protagonist, an antagonist, scenery, leading actors, budget and theatre.

There are a great deal of writing schools around New York City and Los Angeles which will teach students all about playwriting. Once someone takes these courses they will be able to construct a great project which will eventually be successful. Some of the top people on Broadway are constantly looking for new talented individuals who can tell a unique story.

Characters who are interesting will have the best impact upon a production. These individuals will gain the most attention since they are unique in every possible way. Many plays will last for one hundred and twenty minutes and therefore they have to be good. A good character is usually three dimensional and has the ability to hypnotize the audience in a good way.

Many good natured individuals are usually called protagonists and these individuals believe in peace and harmony. They are constantly fighting against the injustices which happen in this world. Writers everywhere know that their protagonist has to be a person who has high moral values.

Many people know that the evil queen in "Snow White" is one antagonist who was willing to commit murder. Others will often think about Cinderella's wicked stepmother or Dr. Smith from the series "Lost In Space." Each and every one of these individuals has contributed some type of wickedness to their production. Dr. Smith was a short term antagonist who totally took over his show before the first year was done. New writers should also be warned that many of these villains can often ruin a show. "Lost In Space" only lasted for three years.

Many new writers dream about casting famous actors like Harrison Ford or Julie Andrews in their productions. At times these actors will only commit to a production for a few weeks or months. More than likely they will also want to play the role of the protagonist since this character is usually the lead. On some rare occasions high paid celebrities may want to expand their horizons and take on the role of the antagonist.

Anyone who is working within the entertainment world also knows about handling a budget. In order to put on a great production a good artist needs to know their financial situation. It may cost a bit of money to hire the leading actors who are currently working in New York or Hollywood.

In order to have a successful show the writer and producers of this event have to find a great location around the city. Many of the places on Broadway are quite expensive and they are hard to secure. New artists may want to take their material to off Broadway locations since they are cheaper. In the long run a great production will get everyone's attention.
