The Very Great Chicago Actors

By Jayne Rutledge

Many of the Chicago actors have a great story to share with the world. The individuals who come from Illinois know all about the happiness and pain that success can bring. Fortunately many of them have fought their way to the top and were able to stay there. Many of the others only lasted for a few years before dying or falling on hard times.

Bill Murray is one man who is proud of his Illinois upbringing and he has achieved so much success during his lifetime. People everywhere remember him from the television show "Saturday Night Live" before he moved on to bigger and better things. He has had a long movie career and was even nominated for many awards.

The very sad but beautiful Jennifer Beals did not have an easy life while growing up in the worst part of this city. She became famous at the age of nineteen when she won the key role in the movie "Flashdance." Even though she did not do any of her own dancing in this movie people still loved and adored her.

Everyone loves the wonderful actor named Harrison Ford since he has been around for such a long time. This man has become a millionaire because of his very popular movies. No one around the world could ever forget his portrayal of Indiana Jones. This character was first introduced in 1981 and has been featured in several movies.

He will admit to anyone that he faced many challenges in the entertainment world during his youth. Harrison kept his job as a carpenter just in case his movie career failed. It was very lucky that he did not listen to a producer who tried to sabotage his work.

A person who grew up watching Mickey Mouse will certainly know the name of Walt Disney. Mr. Disney gave the world many memorable princess characters that still stand strong in this century. He is the founder of Walt Disney World and his family currently owns ABC television in America.

Jennifer Hudson started off as a shy fat girl in this popular town. She had always dreamed about becoming a singer and sang for her church every weekend. In a few years Ms. Hudson became successful after people watched her on the classic television show "American Idol." She has now become a very pretty slender woman who has gained great respect from her fans. Unfortunately a crazy killer also killed her family several years ago.

John Belushi was one of the most famous Chicago actors living in New York City. He was featured on "Saturday Night Live" for many years and had a great movie career going for him. Unfortunately he could not stay away from drugs and alcohol like many young performers in America. His life was cut short after a drug overdose. John's life was similar to the late great Chris Farley who also died from drugs. There are other great performers such as Joe Mantegna, Mandy Patinkin, Tom Berenger, the late Michael Clarke Duncan and Robin Williams who share this terrific area. All of these people have something wonderful to offer this world.
