The iconic London Tower Bridge, built in the late 1800's, sits proud today as an iconic world wonder of not only London itself, but to the world.
For all those thinking about a little bit of English history, the Tower Bridge was designed by Sir Horace Jones, who had been a city architect. While allowing vehicular transport to cross the bridge when it's raised the bridge served as a critical solution for tall ships to move freely in the water. At that time of its construction, it was a master design innovation like no other.
Lego has celebrated this icon by offering its own tiny version of the Tower Bridge. The package is a huge design set, which features over 4000 pieces of Lego blocks with beautiful details that reflect its architectural characteristics, including water and roads that complete the experience. It also includes cars only for that extra throw of quirk, which includes a yellow cab, a red double decker bus, a truck and a car.
It is not often that you get a chance to own a model similar to this from Lego. Usually Lego produces units which can be more geared towards children, but this time with the Tower Bridge, it's more like a showpiece. It's more for your eyes and the mind to enjoy, rather than a a Lego fire truck that gets crashed a renewed again. It's probably more art and design. Lego suggests this set for ages 16+, which means you can quickly observe that adults are the primary market. However nothing is set in stone, and this collection has proved to be an excellent educational set for ages under 15.
From all of the reviews it's been recieving, there's no doubt the Lego Tower Bridge is a true achievement. Customers have been generally pleased with average reviews being almost perfect. Although priced at its more advanced end of the money scale, it's justified from its sheer elegance and grandeur. It is a beautiful centrepiece for almost any place and an absolute joy to own.
