There are many different possibilities why you might be considering investing in a jersey. Perhaps there's a new superstar playing for your favorite team, and you think you should wear his name across your back. Or maybe you're dying to sport those team colors wherever you go. You just might even have a collection already and just be looking to add in that missing piece.

Likewise, a variety of places exist for you to go and purchase this uniform piece. Your favorite team's official store is an ideal place to begin, either in person or online. Often, they'll stock up on the biggest variety of jerseys from which you can make a choice. Another great method is going to a sports memorabilia shop or a sporting goods store.

Before you go shopping, you'll need to make a decision about what kind of jersey you think you want to purchase. You might be astounded by the extent of choices. One of the first decisions you'll need to make is if you want an authentic or replica one. Teams almost always have both options available, with the authentic version being what the athletes themselves would don. However, these are more expensive.

You will additionally need to decide if you want to get the home or away colors of your team. The colors are often inverted between these two choices, and the designation is simple: teams wear home jerseys when they are playing at home and away jerseys when they are on the road. But there is also the option of third jerseys--another type a team will wear, often on special occasions.

If you think you've completed your decision, there's still some way to go. Anyone could buy in a size that fits the best a regular jersey. But there are other possibilities if you're looking for something that's more customized. Jerseys come in kid's and also women's sizes. Even when you've chosen this, you'll need to pick if you want a plain team version or one with your favorite player's name and number. You can even get one to be personalized!

Perhaps, however, you've already bought plenty team jerseys. You still may want to think about a special edition. Jerseys are produced for all kinds of special moments, from the once-yearly All Star Game to the Olympics that only happen every four years.

Purchasing a hockey jersey can be a big choice. In all likelihood, though, finding the type you want will not be such a difficult decision. Once you buy one, you will be able to go out and wear it with pride.
