Songwriting Made Easy

By Dan Atherton

Everyone has the capability of writing songs even if you do not consider yourself to be musical. So long as you have feelings and a consistent source of incentive, then you can also become a song writer. Why pay tons to go to Gigs when you could be performing at them? In this post I will give you some recommendations that I use in order to write a song.

Things You'll Need

Notepad

Pen/pencil

Instrumental

Inspiration

Open mind

- Establish what sort of song you wish to write. This would sometimes be based totally on the genus you normally prefer, however; dependent on the increased level of versatility you possess, you would not restrict your creativity to a single particular class. It is extremely important to be flexible when writing songs, flexibility is what makes you a good composer, this demonstrates you're not stuck writing the same kind of songs day by day. If you'd like to write songs, then you have to be willing to develop and adapt to a changing industry. Remember the film "What's Love Got To Do With It" when Ike was trying hard to get Tina to sing this song and she stated that all of his songs sounded the same and in her state of mind, she was excited to dibble and dabble into all different kinds of music, and as a result, she is one of the most respected and admired artists in the world.

- Move away from all distractions. If you're making an attempt to write a song then you would need to spend some time alone to gather your thoughts. Go to an isolated area within your home or a safe and quiet environment in your neighbourhood.

- Choose the right time of day to scribble a song. Many individuals reach their creative tops during particular times of the day. When I'm in the songwriting mood it is always late in the evening, infrequently around 2 or 3 a.m. Because of the fact that everybody is different you need to figure out what time you are the most creative.

- If you're the type that needs incentive so as to write, then you must use an instrumental, preferably an original instrumental, however; if you do not have access to an original, then you can practice writing to various instrumentals that are on the market. Listing to instrumentals seriously reinforces the songwriting experience, it gets you in the mood and allow you to vibe or feel the music you are listening, particularly when the music is turned up. Nevertheless, it is dependent on what type of song you are attempting to write. When I write songs, I need the music loud enough to where I could feel the bass thump in my chest.

- As you are writing a rough draft, desist from thinking too much about what you are writing. Rough drafts are not perfect renditions of your masterwork, it is basically the foundation or outline of what you need to say. Songwriting is all about writing what you're feeling and what's bothering you at the time. There are so many issues to write about nonetheless , so as to have a fairly good song, then you must first write from your heart. Everyone has it in us, to express ourselves from our heart. Some of us can express ourselves verbally while others express themselves through written communication. If you concentrate on it, writing a song is analogous to blogging, you speak of how you're feeling at the time.
