By Kim Kirmmse Toth

As technology has become ever present in this continuously increasing world of sophistication, so has television become a dominant medium of communication?

It is all encompassing and informative for all age groups and genders. In historical times, TV was only used to entertain and give us a little information about what was happening in our community. However, in the 21st century it is used to educate, inform, entertain, influence and even enlighten us. Amidst our complex world of technological innovation and gadgets to make our lives easier, TV is the medium that can provide many benefits from child to adult.

As we look into the past and see the changes that have been happening over time, we see a trend emerging. The sophistication of all types of gadgets including mobile phones, televisions and other mediums mean that they have become powerhouses of communication. The mobile phone enables some users to access the internet, movies and other forms of communication. Also the TV can now inform us about sports all over the world, music from many cultures and movies that can often by download to computers or mobiles. Certain TV programs enable us to be entertained in the best way possible with little effort or cost. This has become an amazing source of marketing and communication in the 21st century and one to lead us into a new century.

Immediately when we think of the sophistication of these gadgets in the new world, we think of complication and high costs. These are now problems that would have existed in the past. The emerging trend now is to create sophistication and then try to simplify it into an easy to use and learn method that anyone can learn. This kind of Satellite TV is a good example of this trend. As the world has become complex, this type of communication has become easier to install, easier to use, easy for the beginner, user friendly and overall sophistication made simple, cost effective and appropriate for the 21st century.

Finally, it is easy to embrace the future when it attempts to challenge the sophistication and make it simple and affordable. It is so amazing for a viewer in Vietnam to be able to see sports from Albania with a sophisticated type of technology. Especially in regards to television, which is something that most of us use every day, it continues to become more accessible to the average person around the globe.
