Homeowners Can Now Have Free Broadcasts With Digital Antennas

Now that the digital change in the US has been completed, all television stations now transmit their signals in digital signals rather than in analogue. For the majority television viewers, this can be good news. Now it is possible to have the signals essential for your HDTV out of the airwaves using normal digital antennas. TV antennas give the viewers the ability to view these stations without any monthly charges and without loss to the quality of picture to make the the majority of HDTV broadcasts.

Many people appear to have forgotten that there was a time when all televisions received their signals through digital antennas. Homes near the broadcast antennas of the stations often had decent picture quality on their black and white televisions. Those placed over 25 miles from the antennas broadcasting the signals sometimes had difficulty in picking up a good feed. With the introduction of color television, the problems became even worse.

As the number of networks on television grew, satellite television also became popular. Even those living out in the land where cable had not been offered could now have entry to many channels. On every occasion a new network was added the cost of cable increased to the point that a great many subscribers now pay well over $75 per month. Soon, it appears that consumers forgot about free television. Local stations still sent out their signals, but most were never picked up by more than a couple of digital antennas. Consumers were bound to cable by now and many opt to remove the antennas from their rooftops.

The digital conversion had improved the quality of picture that consumers will now be able to get from the airwaves using digital antennas. Except that installation fee, there is no monthly service charge for persons using antennas to get free television service. TV viewers see the same local programming that they would if using cable. HDTV may be viewed at absolutely no cost to the consumer.

Since there were only a few individuals watching television from the air, most didn't notice that the number of locals broadcast stations. Networks that viewers can have thought were only available on cable are just as easily accessible through the free service. By scheduling digital antenna installations, homeowners can provide their families with great quality HDTV without having to pay any monthly service charge. It is not likely that you will have any noticeable difference in picture quality.
